Concert in the park: St. Charles East High School's Wind Ensemble and Jazz Workshop, along with the Elgin Community College Concert Band, are scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lincoln Park music pavilion at West Main and North Fourth streets in St. Charles. The free concert, to feature patriotic selections, is part of the St. Charles Park District's annual Concert in the Park series. The church will buy 1.4 acres between the cemetery and the Elburn and Countryside Community Center. The church established the cemetery in the 1880s, and last enlarged it in 1942.Kirk Road work:A new northbound-to-westbound left-turn lane is being built on Kirk Road at the Stadium Drive entrance to St. Charles East High School. Daily lane closures on Kirk between Foxfield Road and Fox Chase Drive are taking place. Traffic is reduced to one through lane, and is controlled by flaggers, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through mid-August. Main St. in Elburn will donate 65 percent of all orders to the Kaneland Sports Boosters. Community members are encouraged to place a food order during those times and help raise $1,000 to support the boosters. This is the fourth year that Paisano's has hosted a fundraiser for various charities. Past recipients have been Conley Outreach, Elburn Lions Club and American Legion. The survey, which is located on the county's website, gives individuals the chance to rank what issues are most important to them - and what issues they believe DuPage should be making a top priority during its upcoming budget process. The proposed spending plan is expected to be presented in September. The survey can be accessed by visiting dupageco.org.
