Tuesday's Fox Valley roundup

Dundee-Crown pushed across a run in the top of the seventh inning Tuesday to claim a 5-4 nonconference softball win over Woodstock North, the Chargers' first win of the season.

Amanda Eissler, Tiffany Rawlinson (2 RBI) and Danna Jenson each had doubles for the Chargers (1-10), while Hannah Romano had 3 hits including a double.

Melany Love scattered 6 hits and had 5 strikeouts with only 1 walk to pick up the win in the circle for Dundee-Crown.

Lake Park 7, Larkin 2: Sam King (RBI), Kelsey Lodge and Anna Esterino each had doubles for Larkin in this Upstate Eight loss. Lexi Smithberg (1-3) suffered the loss in the circle for the Royals (5-10, 3-3).

Jacobs 13, Woodstock 1: The Golden Eagles (7-5, 4-2) scored 5 runs in the first inning and never looked back in this Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win. Kara Arceneaux was 2-for-4 with a triple and Nicky Chapa went 3-for-3 with 4 RBI for Jacobs. Marissa Lombardo (5-2) struck out six, walked four and allowed 6 hits in picking up the win.

Cary-Grove 16, Prairie Ridge 1: The Trojans took advantage of 7 PR errors and rapped out 17 hits in rolling to a five-inning win over the Wolves in FVC crossover play. Emma Gaulke (3-for-4, 2 HRs, 5 RBI), Abbe Wienckowski (3-for-4, 2B, 3 RBI), Alexis Haley (3-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI) and Colette Roth (2B) led the Cary-Grove offense. Lindsay Efflandt (9-2) allowed just 4 hits with 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in earning the win for the Trojans (12-5). Johanna Turner was the losing pitcher.

Huntley 15, Johnsburg 5: Kelsey Hagan went 4-for-4 including her third home run of the season and had 6 RBI as Huntley (11-4, 4-1) continued to pile up the runs in FVC Valley action. Tara Lycos (2-for-3, 2B), Megan Flynn (2-for-2) and Arianna Albanese (2-for-4, 2B, RBI) also contributed to Huntley's 16-hit attack. Taylor Larson (9-3) picked up the win for the Red Raiders.

Bartlett 11, East Aurora 1: Lisa Matsie and Kaylyn Zierke each had 2 doubles and Alicia Salata (2-0) scattered 6 hits to lead Bartlett (11-5, 5-2) to a five-inning Upstate Eight win at East Aurora.

Neuqua Valley 9, Elgin 7: The Maroons had a 7-4 lead through four innings but couldn't hang on in this Upstate Eight game in Elgin. Mari Aguilera (2B), Brandi Hernandez (3-for-4), Hannah Perryman (2-for-4, RBI) and Jenna Jaynes (2-for-4, 2 RBI) led the Elgin offense. Perryman (5-5) suffered the loss in the circle for the Maroons (6-13, 2-5).

Harvard 7, Hampshire 1: The Whip-Purs (4-11, 0-2) managed just 2 hits in losing this Big Northern East game. Amanda Wescher took the loss in the circle for Hampshire.

CL South 16, CL Central 10: The Gators (6-8) scored 6 runs in the top of the seventh inning to come away with an FVC crossover win over Crystal Lake Central. Vicki Pyan was 3-for-4 with 5 RBI for Crystal Lake South while Tori Stevenson went 2-for-2 with a double and 3 RBI. Liz Stark picked up the win in the circle.

Rosary 10, St. Edward 0: The Green Wave (9-5, 3-2) committed 8 errors in losing this Suburban Christian Conference game in Aurora. Kristi Knott was 3-for-3 with 2 doubles for St. Edward, which had just 5 hits in the game. BreAunna Medinger suffered the pitching loss for St. Edward.

Alden-Hebron 16, Westminster Christian 4: Hannah Graves was 2-for-4 with a double, Allyson Hielscher had 2 hits and Katie Surratt had 2 RBI for Westminster in this Northeast Athletic Conference loss. Katie Moeller was the losing pitcher for the Warriors (1-7, 1-5).
