Waubonsie Valley 6, South Elgin 2: The Storm (7-2, 2-1) could not complete the sweep over the Warriors as they fell in Upstate Eight Conference play in Aurora. Seven different Storm players recorded a hit while Drew Buddle added an RBI, and Kyle Kinyon made his hit an RBI double. Kenny Lowden (1-1) suffered the loss going 42/3 innings with 2 strikeouts and 8 hits.

Burlington Central 12, Marengo 2: The Rockets (13-1, 1-0) wasted little time earning their first Big Northern East Conference victory as they defeated Marengo at home in 5 innings. Burlington Central was led by Jeff Ehlers (3-for-3), who was a home run short of hitting for the cycle, Austin Jarvis (3-for-4, 2 triples, 3 RBI, 3R), and Ray Hunnicutt (3-for-3, 2 RBI). Sophomore Zack Ranney (3-1) earned the victory on the mound as he went all 5 innings, scattering 5 hits while striking out 4.

Lake Park 5, Bartlett 1: Mike Tomsovic suffered the loss for the Hawks as they were defeated in Upstate Eight Conference action at home. Tomsovic gave up 8 hits, 2 earned runs, and struck out 1.

Immaculate Conception 8, St. Edward 3: For the second straight day, the Green Wave (7-6, 2-2) fell to Suburban Christian Conference (Gold Division) foe Immaculate Conception. Luke Duffy, Julian Ramirez, and Zach Von Ahnen (RBI) paced the Green Wave with one double each. Jack Sutherland (2-2) suffered the loss as he gave up 4 earned runs and 5 hits while striking out 3 in 5 innings of play.

Prairie Ridge 4, Cary-Grove 3: The Trojans (6-6, 2-2) were unable to hang on as they were defeated by Prairie Ridge in Fox Valley Conference action. Chris Waylock led the Trojans offensively as he went 2-for-4 with a double. John Spoelstra (0-1) took the tough luck loss, throwing 42/3 innings with 1 strikeout, 3 earned runs and 5 hits allowed.

Huntley 12, Johnsburg 5: Six of Huntley's 13 hits were of the extra-base variety in this Fox Valley Conference win. Andre Sopena (3-for-4, 3B, 3 RBI), Chris Klein (2-for-5, 2B), Phil Pupillo (2-for-5, 2B, RBI), Tom Crohan (2-for-5, 2B, RBI) and Matt Szytz (2-for-2, 2B, 3B, 5 RBI) led the offense. Klein (3-0) picked up the win for the Red Raiders (9-1, 3-0), striking out 9 and allowing 6 hits.

Westminster Christian 10, Alden-Hebron 3: Dylan Scully drove in 2 runs and had a double as Westminster won in the Northeast Athletic Conference. Joe McGannon and Kevin Elder each had a triple and an RBI for the Warriors, while Will Woodhouse and Ben Stevenson each drove in runs. Jordan Kalous was the winning pitcher in relief of Scully.

Dundee-Crown 10, Woodstock North 2: Jake Romano was 2-for-3 with a triple and 2 RBI to lead the Chargers (6-7-1, 3-2) to a Fox Valley Conference win. Scott Nowicke (2-for-3, RBI), Kirk Hanselmann (2-for-4, 2B, RBI), Steve Schwartz (2-for-4) and Zach Vodicka (2B) also contributed to the win. Mike Lodi allowed 5 hits and had 7 strikeouts in 6 innings to earn the win.
