Burlington Central 15, Glenbard North 12: The Rockets (11-1) continued their hot start to the season, scoring 15 runs and pounding out 16 hits as they picked up a nonconference road victory over Glenbard North Saturday afternoon. Tanner Scott and Nolan Anderson each connected on 2 home runs for the Rockets while Austin Jarvis, Nick Hahn, and Luke Fleming also hit one home run apiece. Ray Hunnicutt also turned in a 3-for-5 performance from the plate with a triple. Joey Lange (1-0) came on in relief to earn the victory for the Rockets.
St. Edward 13, Aurora Central Catholic 8: The Green Wave (7-4, 2-0) earned their second Suburban Christian Conference (Gold Division) victory of the season as they defeated ACC at home. Zach Von Ahnen sparked the offense with a 3-run home run while Jack Sutherland, Gus Domel, and Julian Ramirez each provided a double. Luke Duffy (3-1) earned the victory on the mound as he surrendered just 5 hits, struck out 8 and gave up 4 runs in 6 innings of work.
Hampshire 4, Round Lake 1: Ryan Burke (3-1) struck out 16 batters and led the Whip-Purs (3-6) to a nonconference on the road over Round Lake. Burke surrendered just 1 run which came in the first inning of the game on 2 of Round Lake's 4 hits on the day. Dylan Nihells (RBI) and Luke Wians paced the Whip-Purs offensively with a 2-for-4 effort from the plate while Ryan DeChant added a double.
Crystal Lake South 13, Johnsburg 3: The Gators (4-5, 2-1) crossed the plate 13 times and despite allowing 2 unearned runs, they cruised to an easy victory over Fox Valley Conference opponent Johnsburg. Billy Wright paced the Gators offensively going 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI while Chris Hauser added a 2-for-5 performance with a double and an RBI. Nick Martin (1-0) picked up his first victory of the season allowing 6 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 2 in 6 innings of work.
Westminster Christian 11, Luther North 1: The Warriors (8-3) made quick work of Luther North in game one of a doubleheader as they racked up 16 hits and scored 11 runs in 6 innings of play. Joe McGannon hit his fifth home run of the year and drove in 2 runs while Will Woodhouse (3 RBI) and Jordan Kalous (2 RBI, 4 runs) each went 3-for-4 at the plate. Ryan Perez earned the victory as he pitched 4 innings of 3-hit ball while striking out 3.
Westminster Christian 18, Luther North 6: The Warriors (8-3) continued their hot bats and cruised to their second victory of the day over visiting Luther North. Ben Stevenson threw all 5 innings, scattering 6 hits and giving up just 2 earned runs. Frank Oliver led the Warriors at the plate with a 4-for-5 performance at the plate including a double and 4 RBI while Kevin Elder drovein 5 runs and hit 2 doubles.
Huntley 8, Grayslake North 6: The Red Raiders (7-1, 2-0) found themselves trailing 5-4 heading into the top of the fourth inning, but then put up a 4 spot and held on to earn a Fox Valley Conference victory over Grayslake North. Chris Klein had a stellar day at the plate as he went 3-for-4 with 2 home runs and 5 RBI. Bryce Only also added a home run and an RBI while Andrew Sopena turned in a 2-for-3 performance with a triple a run scored and an RBI. Matt Morin (1-1) picked up the victory on the mound going 11/3 innings while giving up just 1 hit and 1 earned run. Phil Pupillo earned the save pitching the final inning and not allowing a hit or a run.
