Shipbaugh, Mangialardi deliver for Montini
Montini 3, East Peoria 1: Tori Shipbaugh and Lara Mangialardi delivered run-scoring singles in the top of the 10th inning, leading the visiting Broncos (2-2). Mangialardi (2-2) went the distance for Montini, scattering 7 hits.
West Chicago 9, Glenbard West 2: Mary Connolly (3-2) struck out 13 batters and went deep for the second straight game, a 3-run shot in the sixth. West Chicago (4-4), which snapped a three-game losing streak, put up 6 runs in the fourth.
Wheaton North 5-6, Geneva 0-1: Kahla Nolan (3-1) threw a 5-hitter, striking out five, and Maddie Bucheit drove in 2 runs for the Falcons (7-1) in the opener. In Game 2 Katie Thornton (4-0) went 4-for-4 with a double, and combined with Bucheit on a four-hitter.
Immaculate Conception 20, Fenton 12: Katelyn Connena went 4-for-4 with a double and scored 5 runs, and the Knights (1-3) scored 8 unearned runs in Bensenville. Kelly Welch went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles, 3 runs scored and 4 RBI for Fenton (2-3).
Wheaton Academy 7-13, Heritage Christian (Ind.) 5-11: The Warriors (3-1) stormed back from down 11-3 after five innings in the second game to sweep the doubleheader in Indianapolis. Olivia Tilly hit her second homer of the season in the second game. Paige Huizenga (2-0) earned victories in both games, the second coming in relief.
