Wheaton North overcomes Riverside-Brookfield

Wheaton North 6, Riverside-Brookfield 5: A 5-run bottom of the fifth inning sparked the Falcons (2-0) to the nonconference win. Ben Murrow went 3-for-3 with a triple while Reece Butler drove in 2 runs. Nick Norder picked up the win with 3 innings of relief.

St. Francis 3, West Chicago 2: The host Spartans (4-0) scored all their runs in the bottom of the sixth inning of their nonconference win. Ryan Acciavati's RBI double provided the go-ahead run. Mike Pugliese and Eric Stout each had 2 hits. Tom Ameche improved to 2-0 on the mound.

Fenton 8, St. Joseph 4: Danny Diaz went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI and a home run to lead off the game for the Bison (1-1). Michael Mach went 3-for-5 and David Savoia (1-0) pitched 3 innings for the win.

WW South 3, Marmion 0: Steve Lemm fired a 1-hitter for the Tigers (3-0), striking out eight and walking none. WW South scored 2 runs in the first inning and added a run in the fifth.
