Wheaton N. keeps pace in DuPage Valley
Wheaton North held off Naperville North's girls basketball team 68-55 Saturday afternoon in Naperville.
Fantasia Vine scored 13 points and A.K. Feltes had 12 points and 13 rebounds for the No. 9 Falcons (15-9, 10-2), who bounced back from a loss to Naperville Central to keep pace atop the DuPage Valley.
Colleen Warren scored 16 points and Shannon Bushman 13 for Naperville North (7-18, 5-8), which had its three-game winning streak snapped.
WW South 50, Glenbard North 26: The Tigers jumped out to an 18-6 lead after a quarter and never looked back in Wheaton. Annie Shain hit four 3-pointers en route to 14 points and Katie Ottolin added 10 for WW South (18-7, 8-4 DVC). Amoni Reynolds paced Glenbard North (5-21, 2-11) with 16 points.
West Aurora 54, Glenbard East 51: Kiara Towles had 14 points and 7 rebounds to lead the Blackhawks in Lombard. Olivia Trefilek and Nikki Hall each tallied 12 points for the Rams (8-17, 1-11 DVC).
Providence 45, Benet 43: Brianne Vandenberg hit 2 free throws with 2.5 seconds to lift Providence (16-13, 5-5 East Suburban Catholic) past Benet (14-11, 5-5) in Lisle.
Wheaton Academy 55, Nazareth 42: Sydney Sharkey poured in 21 points, hitting five 3-pointers, for the visiting Warriors. Alexa Sharkey added 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 steals for Wheaton Academy (19-5).
Immaculate Conception 61, Aurora Central 45: Taylor Reaber scored 18 points and Allie DiVito 12 for the No. 14 Knights (26-3) in Aurora.
