Postseason assignments released

Boys basketball postseason assignments were released by the IHSA Thursday.

In Class 4A, Barrington, Bartlett, Crystal Lake South and Machesney Park Harlem will host regional tournaments with the winners advancing to the Rockford Boylan sectional.

The Bartlett regional will include the host Hawks, Elgin, South Elgin, St. Charles East and St. Charles North. The Barrington regional field includes the host Broncos, Cary-Grove, Dundee-Crown, Larkin and Streamwood. Vying for a regional title at CL South will be the host Gators, Jacobs, Huntley, McHenry and Rockford Jefferson.

In Class 3A, Hampshire will host the sectional tournament. Regionals were awarded to Rockford East, Woodstock North, Kaneland and Aurora Central Catholic. Hampshire and Burlington Central will both begin postseason play at Kaneland against a field that includes the host Knights, DeKalb, Rochelle and Sycamore.

In Class 2A, St. Edward has been assigned to the North Boone regional, which feeds into the sectional at Byron. Others assigned to North Boone include the host Vikings, Genoa-Kingston, Harvard and Rockford Christian.

Westminster Christian will host an eight-team Class 1A regional that also includes Elgin Academy. The winner of the Westminster Christian regional will advance to the Somonauk sectional.
