Tuesday's Lake County roundup

Sophomore forward Ocatavia Crump scored 19 points to lead Zion-Benton's girls basketball team to a 53-40 win over visiting Stevenson on Tuesday night.

The Zee-Bees' coaching staff includes former Stevenson head coach Frank Mattucci.

The win improved Zion-Benton to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the North Suburban Lake Division.

Stevenson fell to 5-3 and 0-2.

The Zee-Bees' Carneesha Johnson held Stevenson's Michelle O'Brien to a season-low 13 points. Kelsey Simon added 12 for the Patriots.

Zion-Benton junior Juanita Robinson scored 10 of her 12 points in the second half, which saw the home team build a 16-point lead in the fourth quarter.

Senior point guard Shay Jackson had 9 points for the Zee-Bees and senior Kayla Parks added 11 rebounds and 5 points.

Grant 49, Elgin 36: Donnie Taggart scored 17 points and Kassie Stimpson chipped in 13 for the Bulldogs in the nonconference win.

Palatine 54, Mundelein 26: Olivia Dunigan and Brooke Evans scored 6 points apiece for the Mustangs (5-4).
