Tuesday's Fox Valley roundup

Sarah Havemann scored 17 points to lead South Elgin to a 62-51 nonconference girls basketball win over Glenbard North Tuesday night in Carol Stream.

The Storm (2-3), which used a 23-point second quarter to ignite the win, also got 12 points each from Becca Smith and Kelsey Prince.

Cary-Grove 53, Crystal Lake Central 34: The Trojans (6-0) continued their winning ways as they picked up this Fox Valley Conference crossover victory to remain undefeated. Claire Jakubicek recorded a team-high 14 points while Olivia Jakubicek and Meg Straumann added 8 points each for the Trojans.

Huntley 57, Prairie Ridge 52: The Red Raiders (3-2) held off a late charge by the Wolves to come away with a Fox Valley crossover victory at home. Katherine Lowery paced the Red Raiders offensive attack, scoring 13 of her team-high 22 points in the third quarter. Hillary Johnson and Carly Goede chipped in 10 points apiece for Huntley.

Hampshire 52, Winnebago 24: The Whip-Purs (6-0) started off strong and never looked back as they cruised to an easy 52-24 Big Northern crossover victory at Winnebago. Alex Dumoulin paced Hampshire with 16 points while Christina Heine added 13 points.

St. Edward 65, Aurora Christian 37: The Green Wave (4-1) took a 41-17 lead into halftime and continued to build on the lead, downing Aurora Christian in this Suburban Christian Conference crossover game. Madeline Kerr poured in a game-high 21 points while Callie Johnson and Vincenza Ranallo also recorded double-digits with 10 points each.

Crystal Lake South 56, Woodstock North 24: Katie Burton and Michelle Gaede paced the Gators (3-4) with 18 and 13 points respectively as they cruised to a Fox Valley crossover victory over Woodstock North

Bartlett 64, East Aurora 40: The Hawks (4-3, 1-0) used a balanced offensive attack, as four players recorded double-digits to top East Aurora in this Upstate Eight Conference game in Aurora. Jacki Gulczynski paced the Hawks with 13 points while Haley Videckis added 12 points. Kristin Conniff and Christina Carlson chipped in 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Elgin Academy 36, U-High 26: Lauren Steimle scored 18 points and Alyssa Pena added 10 as the Hilltoppers won in the Independent School League.
