Tuesday's Fox Valley roundup

Claire Jakubicek turned in a solid performance recording a game high 18 points as Cary-Grove rolled to a 74-44 win over Woodstock North Tuesday night in the Trojans' season opener.

Christina Bear and Tara Geegan also recorded double-digits scoring 10 points a piece.

Indian Creek 53, Westminster Christian 41: The Warriors (0-1) fell on the road in their season-opener 53-41 to Indian Creek in the Rockford Christian Tournament. Senior Rachel Doby was the only Warrior to score double-digits, just missing a double-double with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Sarah Rodgers chipped in 8 points while Katie Surratt added 4 points.

Crystal Lake South 36, Woodstock 25: The Gators started out slow Tuesday night in their season opener, but broke the game wide open with a 17-point second quarter and never looked back en route to a 36-25 victory against Woodstock on the road.

Michelle Gaede paced the Gator offense with 12 points, scoring 10 of those 12 points in the second quarter. Katie Burton and Beth McGinn chipped in 7 points apiece while Stephanie Melone added 4 points.

York 68, Bartlett 59: The Hawks (0-1) fell behind after one quarter of play and could not make a comeback as Bartlett suffered a tough 68-59 to York on the road.

Bartlett used a balanced offense as four different Hawk players tallied double-digits. Jacki Gulczynski recorded a team-high 13 points while Haley Videckis and Kristin Conniff each scored 11 points. Nicole Beck rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points.

Prairie Ridge 43, Dundee-Crown 28: The Chargers (0-1) were unable to stop the Wolves' offense as Dundee-Crown fell 43-28 at Prairie Ridge in Tuesday's season-opener. Lindsay Mosher led the Charger offense with 9 points on the night.
