Wheaton North 11-10, West Aurora 9-6: Jack DeAno went 6-for-6, hit for the cycle in the opener, scored 5 runs, drove in 8 runs, doubled twice and hit a pair of homers as the Falcons (18-0, 11-0) swept the DuPage Valley Conference doubleheader. Aric Dama (5-0) and Wade Cervenka were the winning pitchers as Wheaton North rallied from a 7-1 deficit to claim Game 2.
Naperville North 12-14, West Chicago 2-3: The Huskies (15-5, 8-3) won both DuPage Valley Conference games in five innings. Game 1 winner Charlie White (3-1) had 6 hits, 2 homers and 5 RBI including a grand slam. Jake Naumann struck out eight to improve to 6-1 in the second game. Ethan Burau blasted a 3-run homer for the Wildcats (10-11, 3-8) in the second game.
Naperville Central 18-7, Glenbard East 0-6: After Pat Kaminska (2-1) pitched 6 strong innings in the opener, the Redhawks (13-9, 7-4) notched the DuPage Valley Conference sweep by following an 11-run fifth inning with a 6-run sixth. Bob Czarnowski drove in 6 runs in the second game.
WW South 8-7, Glenbard North 7-3: Taylor Rhoades went 6-for-7 with 2 triples, a homer and 7 RBI as the Tigers (13-7, 7-4) swept in the DuPage Valley Conference. Steve Smith and Eric Pavel were the winning pitchers.
Wheaton Academy 5-19, Timothy Christian 1-2: Eric Albaugh homered in the second game to highlight a Private School League sweep for the Warriors (14-5, 10-2). Dan Schmitz (2-0) and Brian Hess (3-0) allowed a total of 8 hits while winning on the mound.
