Thursday's Fox Valley roundup

Lauren Steimle and Kristin Cella each had hat tricks Thursday to lead the Elgin Academy girls soccer team to a 7-0 win over Keith School of Rockford in nonconference action.

Emma Stone scored the other goal for the Hilltoppers (1-0-1). Bianca Swegler had 3 saves in goal and Sienna Romano made 1 save.

CL Central 1, Jacobs 0: Alyssa Barnard made 5 saves in goal and Jacobs outshot CL Central 14-6 but the Golden Eagles couldn't push past a goal in this Fox Valley crossover loss.

Lake Park 1, Streamwood 0: Bri Roppa had 15 saves in goal but the Sabres' scoring drought continued in this Upstate Eight Conference loss. Streamwood is now 0-4-3 overall and 0-1-2 in the UEC.

South Elgin 6, Elgin 0: Laurine Vedrine scored a hat trick and Natalie Jaramillo, Gina Simore and Taylor Scholtz added single knocks as the Storm (5-3-2, 1-2-1) bettered last year's win total with this Upstate Eight Conference victory. Esther Siebig played the net for South Elgin but wasn't required to make any saves. Yesina Meza had 9 saves in the net for Elgin (2-4, 0-2).

Cary-Grove 8, Johnsburg 0: Kelli Anderson scored twice and six other Cary-Grove players registered goals as the Trojans (4-1) rolled to a Fox Valley crossover win. Also scoring for the Trojans were Allie Simon, Korey Kornforst, Sally Tashjian, Brittany Kroening, Mary Schneider and Liz Bart. Alex Holland made 1 save in goal for the winners.
