Lane closures scheduled

Naperville is advising motorists that 24-hour lane closures are scheduled to begin today near the intersection of Washington and 75th streets. Major road and bridge construction is slated to begin in March and traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on both roads near the intersection. Beginning today, traffic along westbound 75th Street from Oxford Lane and Clyde Drive will be reduced to one lane. In addition, the eastbound left-turn lane will be closed. The closures will be in effect around-the-clock and are expected to be in place for about two weeks.

Heritage Y picks leaders

The Heritage YMCA, which serves Naperville, Aurora and Oswego, has elected several members to its corporate board. They are: Brooke Cook, an architectural manager for PPG Industries, Inc.; Tom Carroll, executive vice president at R.R. Donnelley; Joe Dunn, a CPA and managing director of a private equity investment fund; Loretta Karkhoff, vice president and branch manager of First Community Bank; Mike Krol, retired from AT&T; Ray McGury, executive director of Naperville Park District; Jane Wenette, who spent many years at Leo Burnett; Luis Richard, supply chain manager at Central DuPage Hospital; and Ben Kirchhoff, bank manager and vice president at Harris.

Recruiting seminar

The Glenbard North Athletic Booster Club is sponsoring a seminar on college recruiting at 7 p.m. Feb. 11. Jack Renkens, former college coach and recruiting expert, will speak about finding scholarship at the Realities of College Recruiting event. It will be held at the Glenbard North auditorium, 990 Kuhn Road, Carol Stream. The seminar is free, but the booster club is asking participants to bring a can of food for the local pantry.
