St. Edward's Yohn hits for 37 in win

St. Edward 62, St. Francis 56: St. Edward senior Katie Yohn tied her career high with 37 points as the Green Wave (14-7, 6-3) won in the Suburban Catholic Conference.

"Katie was on fire tonight," said Green Wave coach Michelle Dawson.

"It was just a good offensive night tonight."

Yohn made 14 field goals, including one 3-pointer, and was 6-for-7 from the free throw line as she ran her career scoring total to 1,584 points.

Maddie Kerr added 8 points and Callie Johnson contributed 7 points for St. Edward.

Hampshire 52, Harvard 23: Hampshire (16-3, 6-0) stayed a half-game ahead of Marengo in the Big Northern East Division race with this win on the road. Christine Schumacher led the Whip-Purs with 14 points, Chrissy Heine added 10, Alex Dumoulin 9 and Cassie Dumoulin chipped in 8 points.

Westminster Christian 49, Luther South 40: Sarah Rodgers scored 17 points to lead Westminster (4-12, 1-5) to its first Private School League win of the season.

South Elgin 54, East Aurora 37: Cortney Kumerow scored 13 points and Becca Smith added 12 as the Storm (12-7, 4-3) prevailed in the Upstate Eight Conference.

Cary-Grove 74, Dundee-Crown 33: Tino Bear scored 21 points and Claire Jakubicek added 18 as the Trojans (16-5, 3-1) rolled to an easy win in the Fox Valley (Valley). Alex Lococo led Dundee-Crown (2-19, 0-5) with 20 points.
