Fox Valley roundup: BC wins in overtime

At DeKalb: Behind double-digit scoring from Matt McCurdy (20 points), Mark Mastio (16 points) and Shane Larkin (18 points), Burlington Central (5-5) edged North Grand 67-66 in regulation at the 81st annual Chuck Dayton Tournament... Zac Boster (14 points) and Richard Gonzaga (12 points) combined to match Dixon's totals as Huntley (8-5) defeated Dixon 55-26.

At Wheeling: With 20 points from Tem Esikiel, Streamwood (5-8) picked up a 57-52 victory over Vernon Hills at the 31st Annual Wheeling Hardwood Classic. Marcus Greene chipped in with 15 points.

At Jacobs Holiday Tournament: Despite a late push from Barrington which included a 20-point fourth quarter, Crystal Lake South (6-6) held on for a 62-61 victory. With 16 points, Eric Wilde led the Gators offense. Kevin Rogers added 14 points and Michael Frericks contributed 12 points ... St. Edward (5-7) fell behind Lindbloom in the second quarter and couldn't bounce back falling 63-44. Steve Martin led the Green Wave with 15 points ... In a battle of the Groves, Elk Grove topped Cary-Grove 60-45. Chad McCarron led the Trojans (7-5) with 10 points.

At Marengo: Westminster Christian (8-4) earned a spot in the third-place contest of the E.C. Nichols Tournament despite falling to Bogan 47-31. With 11 points, Ryan Beachler led the Warrior offense while Joe Vanden Bos and Dan Graves each added 7 points. The Warriors went on to finish third overall with a 48-38 win over Sycamore. Beachler again led offensive efforts with 14 points, and Ian Dutcher contributed with 12 points ... Hampshire (5-5) nabbed a 70-67 overtime win over Hubbard before falling to Kaneland 51-43. Shyler Ralphs went 6-of-8 from the foul line in overtime to help the Whips clinch the win, finishing the game with 10 points. Additional key play came from James Goebbert (14 points), Justin Bieber (12 points), Mike Kozenczak (11 points) and a late push from Will Bush (13 points). Goebbert scored 18 points to lead Hampshire in the loss to Kaneland.
