Wauconda, Grant, GN all win

Wauconda's boys basketball team picked up its first win of the season Wednesday night.

Eric Hartnett and Gibson Gaite scored 15 and 13 points, respectively, as the Bulldogs defeated Harvard 48-38 at Richmond-Burton.

Matt Stonis added 8 for Wauconda (1-1, 1-1), which resumes the tournament Friday with a 7:30 p.m. tipoff against Richmond-Burton.

Grant 56, Marengo 48: At Johnsburg, Gilbert Sheehan scored 22 points to lead the Bulldogs.

Jerry Gaylor added 12 for Grant (2-0, 2-0), which plays host Johnsburg at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Grayslake North 63, Richmond-Burton 23: At Richmond-Burton, the Knights got balanced scoring to earn their second win in as many nights.

It's the first time in its three seasons that Grayslake North has started 2-0.

Rolling Idlas scored 10 points for the Knights. Jordan Lee, Jorge Gomez and Michael Verwijst each scored 8.
