Will Rogers tribute at Heritage Fair

The entertainment schedule Heritage Fair to be held July 13 at the McHenry County Historical Society in Union has been released. Gary Anderson, entertainment chair, again has lined up some real treats for inside and outside the museum.

On stage in the museum at 11 a.m. is Lance Brown's "Will Rogers Now!" a journey into the roots of the American experience. This entertaining portrait of a gentle American hero honors Will Rogers in words, theater and song. After years of study, Lance has at his command a fascinating collection of Will Rogers' newspaper articles, radio monologues and off-the-cuff comments that still ring true today. After years of performing as Rogers, Brown wears the role like a second skin. This performance brings you history, heroes and hilarity, a few rope tricks and a few tears, but mostly the irrepressible spirit of Will Rogers and hope for our troubled times. (www.willrogers.net)

Scheduled at noon is the popular Clef Hangers Barbershop Quartet.

The Magic Comedy of Freddy Fredricks will be onstage at 2 pm. Freddy has been a delightful part of Heritage Fair for a number of years.

These events are just part of the happenings at the County Historical Society.
