Blood drive planned at deLacey
The deLacey Family Education Center in association with Heartland Blood Center will hold a blood drive from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the center's gym at 50 Cleveland Ave., Carpentersville. Walk-ins are welcome.
Bring a photo I.D. All donors will receive a "Moola Card" to receive Oberweis ice cream and a raffle will be held for donors for a Baker's Square pie.

Legionnaires host 'Post Everlasting'
McHenry County Legionnaires from all County Posts are invited to attend the monthly meeting of the McHenry County Council at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The meeting venue will be the American Legion, Lake in the Hills Post 1231, 1101 W. Algonquin Road, in Lake in the Hills. The host post is Lake in the Hills Post 1231.

The McHenry County Council will perform the "Post Everlasting" Ceremony to honor the Legionnaires who died during the last year and attending post delegates are invited to bring lists of their departed Legionnaires on tracing paper for this ceremony.
Find a furry friend at adoption event
McHenry County's Animal Control and Adoption Center will host two adoption events: from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 31 at its newest facility in Crystal Lake, 100 N. Virginia St.
There are several cats and dogs waiting for their forever home.
Adoption fees are $80 and include all vaccinations, spay/neuter, FELV and FIV testing, microchip, de-worming, collar and kennel tag, free first vet visit, discounted grooming and a free bag of food.
