Wrap: Lake Park 6, Cicero-North Syracuse 5
Alexis Munaco's run-scoring single capped off a rally in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting Lake Park past Cicero-North Syracuse (N.Y.) 6-5 at the Wendy's Classic on Friday in Ashland, Ohio. Munaco went 3-for-3 and Carly Willert 2-for-3 with a double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI for the Lancers (8-1).
Earlier in the day Elyria (Ohio) handed Lake Park its first loss, scoring once in the seventh to win 3-2. Munaco had a 2-run double in the sixth. Missy Mazur (7-1) pitched both games for Lake Park, which plays two more games today.
Naperville Central 1, Wheaton North 0: Two days after striking out 18 in a win over Glenbard North, Naperville Central's Natalie Wunderlich fanned 12 in a 2-hit shutout in Wheaton. The Redhawks (7-0, 3-0 DuPage Valley Conference) scored their run in the sixth. Maggie Buoy and Erin Graham singled, and Buoy scored on a throwing error.
Glenbard East 1, West Aurora 0: Mikayla Stranski reached on an error, advanced on a passed ball and scored on an error in the bottom of the seventh for Glenbard East (6-6, 2-1 DVC). Abby Petersdorf struck out five for the Rams.
West Chicago 3, Naperville North 0: Mary Connolly (7-3) struck out 11 in a 3-hit shutout in West Chicago. Linnea Detrick went 2-for-3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored and Chrissie Rovtar 2-for-3 for West Chicago (7-3, 2-1 DVC).
Hinsdale South 2, Downers Grove South 1: Ashley Kopp scored 2 runs for Hinsdale South, including the go-ahead score that broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the sixth. Marissa Mersch and Ashley Dec had doubles for Downers Grove South (8-2, 2-1 West Suburban Gold).
Benet 5, Glenbard South 4: Kaitlin Coari went 2-for-2 with 3 RBI for host Benet (9-5), and her sacrifice fly in the fourth scored the eventual winning run.
Glenbard West 13, Hinsdale Central 3: Ashley Steinhilber and Melissa Noland both homered for the Hilltoppers (8-2, 3-0 West Suburban Silver).
Driscoll 8, Aurora Central 2: Tarah McShane slugged a 2-run home run, her second of the year, in the first inning for Driscoll (7-9, 2-4 Suburban Catholic Conference). Lisa Matsie went 3-for-3 with a triple, 2 RBI and 2 runs.
Neuqua Valley 6, Joliet 1: Haley Bork was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and a run scored and Jenna Marsalli 2-for-4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored for the Wildcats (3-8).
Fenton 16, Maine East 0: Brittany Marquardt went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored to lead a 13-hit attack. Missy Santagata and McKall Pugliese each went 2-for-3 for Fenton (6-5).
Leyden 1, Addison Trail 0: Gina Pizzoferrato struck out 16 for Addison Trail (4-4, 1-2 West Suburban Gold).
Marian Central Catholic 8, Montini 0: The Hurricanes banged out 14 hits to beat Montini (2-6, 0-3 Suburban Catholic Conference).
Dwight 10, Lisle 0: Host Dwight had 14 hits, 6 of them doubles, in a win over Lisle (2-8, 1-6 Interstate Eight Conference).

Waubonsie Valley 5, Elgin 2:ŒCompleting a game suspended Thursday due to darkness, the Warriors scored 3 runs in the top of the 11th inning for the Upstate Eight Conference victory. Andrew Pasztor (1-0) was the winning pitcher, throwing 2½ hitless innings.
Waubonsie Valley 3 Elgin 2:ŒIn Friday's regularly scheduled game, Adam Leroy's 2-run first-inning double gave Waubonsie Valley (6-7, 5-2 Upstate Eight Conference) the lead for good. Ryne Gill (1-0) went the distance for the win.
Driscoll 14, Aurora Central Catholic 0:ŒThe Highlanders (10-3, 3-1) scored 9 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to end the Suburban Catholic Conference game in Addison. David Schwabe (1-1) walked one and struck out seven for the victory. Kyle Sanders and Adam Davis homered.
Naperville North 14, Glenbard West 2:ŒIn a five-inning nonconference game in Glen Ellyn, Huskies pitcher Matt Manade (1-0) earned the win. Jordan Tassio led off the game with a home run against the Hilltoppers (7-6-1). Naperville North is 11-4.
WW South 2, Glenbard East 1:ŒDustin Quattrocchi doubled in Matt Glawe to give the Tigers (5-7, 4-2 DuPage Valley Conference) a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Rams (3-11-1, 1-5) got their run in the seventh when Scott Klepetka's doubled drove in courtesy runner Randy Baukovac, but pitcher Nick Brown came in to end the game and earn his first save of the season.
Neuqua Valley 5, Streamwood 0:ŒIn the Upstate Eight Conference Geoff Rowan earned the victory by striking out eight and walking just one in eight innings of work. Rowan and Ian Krol homered for the Wildcats.
Downers Grove South 11, Wheaton North 1:ŒMike Wido hit a first-inning grand slam for the Mustangs, who won in five innings. Pat Leahy (3-0) was the winning pitcher.
Lisle 12, Dwight 2:ŒThe Lions hit three home runs to defeat Interstate Eight Conference rival Dwight in five innings on the road.
Lake Park 12, East Aurora 0:ŒMatt Kennedy homered and Brian Serrano went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI and a run scored for the Lancers (7-4, 4-2 Upstate Eight Conference).
Glenbard South 10, Kaneland 9:ŒThe Raiders scored 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win in the Western Sun Conference. Anthony Affrunti homered in his first varsity at-bat, and catcher Joe Biagini hit his fifth of the season as the Raiders (9-6, 6-3) battled back from an 8-0 deficit, scoring all their runs after the third inning.
York 4, Willowbrook 0:ŒThe Dukes (5-7) got good pitching from winner Shay Wagner (1-1), who struck out five and walked none in 7 innings.
