• Peace Corps volunteer Donna Braden will discuss her experiences at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Helen M. Plum Memorial Library, 110 W. Maple St., Lombard. Braden joined the Peace Corps at age 64, after raising two children and spending years working. She is now a Peace Corps recruiter for volunteers 50 and older and will discuss opportunities for those who wish to serve. Peace Corps volunteers must be U.S. citizens 18 or older and be willing to make a 27-month commitment that includes comprehensive language, program and safety training. • "Gathering the Stories of World War II Veterans" will be on display Monday through April 30 at the Helen M. Plum Memorial Library, 110 W. Maple St., Lombard. The exhibit was created by Lombard residents Pam "Mimi" Pulice, owner of Dreaming Mimi Video Productions, and Diane Dassow, owner of Binding Legacies, both of whom are members of the Association of Personal Historians. The APH has partnered with the Library Congress Veterans' History Project to preserve wartime recollections for the library's archives.
