Theater troupe to holds auditions

The Greenman Theatre Troupe will hold auditions for its annual murder-mystery dinner production, "Matrimony, Mayhem and Murder," at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elmhurst Masonic Lodge, 103 Arthur St., Elmhurst. Call backs will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 19, if necessary.

Roles are available for five men and five women. Auditions will include cold readings from the script. Actors also may prepare short monologues and songs for their audition; however, not all roles require singing.

Volunteers also are needed to assist the production team. Performances will be Feb. 16-17 and 22-23 at Angelo's Ristorante, 247 N. York Road, Elmhurst. For details, call (630) 464-2646 or visit www.greenmantheatre.com.

Driscoll inducts new NHS members

Driscoll Catholic High School recently inducted 31 new members into the Saint Thomas More Chapter of the National Honor Society. These students include:

Juniors: Kathryn Bosworth, Rosa Colella, Gianna DiGrazia, Catherine Jaskey, Michael Lombardo, Alysia Olvera, Maggie Osial, Samantha Schneider, Nicole Valio and Margaret Villaos, all of Addison; Suzanne Stiefbold, Bensenville; Christopher Heading, Daniel Meyo and Kelly Weber, Bloomingdale; Drew Enger, Carol Stream; Michael Korby and Andrew O'Reilly, Elgin; Jerrod Callanta and Gabriel Tumlos, Glendale Heights; Anjelica Maranan, Streamwood; Sean Capili, Gianna Giuffre, Tylar Jozefczyk, Paul Rogus, Steven Schwabe and Jeremy Wilk, all of Wood Dale.

To be eligible for membership, students must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 and take three or more honors-level credits per year.

Potential members also must meet high standards for leadership, service and character. Candidates are evaluated by faculty, then voted on by a five-member council appointed by the principal.
