• The fifth annual Lung Cancer Walk and Rally will be Saturday at Benet Academy, 2200 Maple Ave., Lisle. The event includes breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and the walk at 10 a.m. There also will be an wall where walkers can post notes or photos to honor loved ones. After the walk, the rally will include speakers, entertainment, children's activities and more. • The DuPage Symphony Orchestra will perform a benefit concert, "Chamber Music Sampler" at 3 p.m. Sunday at North Central College's Koten Chapel, 329 E. School St., Naperville. • Renowned acoustic guitarist Muriel Anderson's 16th annual Saturday-After-Thanksgiving Guitar Concert will be at 8 p.m. Nov. 24 at Downers Grove North High School, 4436 Main St. Guests include Grammy Award-winning harmonic player Howard Levy, and a string trio. Anderson, a Downers Grove native, has released seven CDs in the United States and three in Japan. Advance tickets cost $22, $12 for students and senior citizens. At the door, tickets cost $15 to $25. • The Glendale Heights Christmas Sharing program starts Nov. 26. A tree decorated with gift tags will be set up on the first floor of village hall, 300 Civic Center Plaza. • Bridge Communities, a not-for-profit agency that helps homeless families in DuPage County find permanent housing, is seeking donations of used cars. In most cases, cars donated to Bridge Communities are given to the families it serves, to help them move toward self-sufficiency. The agency, which is based in Glen Ellyn, aims to provide transitional housing to homeless families in DuPage County through partnerships with faith- and community-based organizations. During the past 18 years, Bridge Communities has helped more than 1,500 people move from homelessness to permanent housing and self-sufficiency.
