Police seeking info

Aurora police are seeking information on a weekend incident in which a man was critically injured after he apparently fell from a moving train, officials say. Police were called to the 600 block of North McClure Road around 8:40 a.m. Saturday to help with a man, Terrell Myers, 41, of Calumet City, who had been seriously injured along railroad tracks west of Eola Road. Police do not suspect foul play but they're doing a full investigation to determine what happened. A Burlington Northern employee on a passing train saw Myers lying near the tracks about 8:35 a.m. Myers was taken to an Aurora hospital, then airlifted to another hospital. Man charged with theft

A Bolingbrook man turned himself in to Lisle police to face charges in connection with theft from a local engineering firm. Wayne W. Nekola, 47, was charged with one count of theft in connection with the loss of more than $300,000 reported by Morris Engineering in Lisle over the course of five years. Police said he is accused of using corporate accounts to pay for personal items such as sports tickets, furniture, travel and home landscaping and improvement projects between 2001 and 2006. He was released after posting $35,000 bond. His next court date is slated for 9 a.m. Oct. 23.

Anti-bullying author speaks

New York Times best-selling author Jodee Blanco will address students and staff in Bloomingdale School District 13 this evening on the impact of bullying. Blanco's presentation will begin at 7 p.m. in the Westfield gymnasium, 149 Fairfield Way, Bloomingdale. The presentation is the start of a yearlong campaign to educate District 13 students on the bullying trend. In addition to her best-selling memoir, "Please Stop Laughing at Me," Blanco is the creator and producer of the "It's NOT Just Joking Around!" anti-bullying education program.

Rival wins Falcon Band fest

The Wheaton Warrenville South High School marching band went across town to rival Wheaton North High School's band festival and took home a first-place honor this past weekend. The Tigers won the Class AA portion, beating five other schools. Glenbard West placed fourth in the same class. Grant Community High School won the Class A category. Waukegan High School took second, while Round Lake High School placed fifth and Streamwood High School ranked a distant sixth. Lake Park High School won the Class AAA grouping. Warren Township High School took second in the same class. Naperville Central placed sixth.

Lombard offers RealTour

Professional Realtors are invited to take a RealTour of Lombard to learn about recent and current development in the village and gather information about future plans. Police seeking Aurora man

Aurora police are looking for a 28-year-old Aurora man who is wanted on several charges, including criminal sexual assault and domestic battery. Evaristo Sanchez Calderon, whose last known address was on the 700 block of Second Avenue, is accused of attacking a 24-year-old woman on Sept. 9, police said. He's also charged with criminal sexual assault and unlawful restraint. Calderon is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and about 132 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, police said. He is missing half of one of his fingers on his left hand and has a tattoo of the letter "C" on the same hand. He has gone by Evaristo Calderon Sanchez in the past, police said. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call (630) 801-6662.
