Beef Brisket
3 pounds brisketGarlic salt to tastePaprika to taste1 envelope (size) dried onion soup mix1 jar (12 ounces) chili sauce1 can beerHeat oven to 450 degrees.Season one side of brisket with garlic salt and paprika. Place in 9-by-13-inch pan and roast for 20 minutes.Remove pan from oven, turn meat over and season again with garlic salt and paprika; roast 20 minutes longer.Remove pan from oven and reduce temperature to 350 degrees. Top brisket with onion soup mix, chili sauce and beer. Cover tightly with heavy foil and bake 2 1/2 hours or until very tender.Slice against the grain and serve on firm rolls or with twice-baked potatoes.Serves nine to 12.
