'Medium(s)' exhibit opens Jan. 12 at Side Street Studio Arts

Side Street Studio Arts in Elgin presents "Medium(s)," a new exhibition featuring artists collaborating with artists from different mediums.

They have randomly paired up the Elgin area's most dedicated artists to create a new body of work.

The eight groups listed below will present the fruits of their collaborative labors Friday, Jan. 12 through Feb. 4.

The opening reception will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at the gallery, 15 Ziegler Court in downtown Elgin.

The eight groups are: Dani Sposato and Lindsey Wiseman; Chloe Topf and Lance Long; Chris Palm and David Metzger; Bruce Bachelder and Doug Hanson; Jane Erlandson and Angelina Diana; Mike Rende and Julian Medriano; Berto Martinez and Adrian Mesino; and Zelda Vidal and Stephen Schreiner.

Gallery hours are noon to 6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.

It is sonsored in part by the Illinois Arts Council Agency.

Side Street Studio Arts was founded in 2013 by Tanner Melvin and Erin Rehberg as an outlet for the artists of Elgin. Currently under the direction of Amanda Harris, Roberto Martinez, Melvin, and Rehberg, its mission is to provide an accessible space, run by artists, encouraging all aspects of the artistic process from creation to curation.
