The Wheaton Band's Final Concert of the Season Swings

Doug Beach returns to the Wheaton Stage to present the

final concert of the 2017 season on Thursday, August 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Park in downtown Wheaton. Get ready to tap your toes or even move up to the dance floor. The Park plans to swing.

Members of the Wheaton Municipal Band auditioned for a spot in this special jazz band rendition of concerts in the park. Joining the WMB musicians are Mark Colby -Tenor sax, Keith Brooks - Drums, Dan Parker - Bass, Frank Caruso - Piano, Mike Pinto - Guitar, Kirk Garrison - Trumpet and Jenna Hesseln -Vocalist.

Big Band favorite tunes include: "Route 66" by Bobby Troup, "Witchcraft" by C. Coleman and C. Leigh, "In a Sentimental Mood" by Duke Ellington, "Let's Take the A-Train" by Billy Strayhorn, "In the Mood" by Joe Garland, and "Night in Tunisia" by Dizzy Gillespie. Sing along with You are the "Sunshine of My Life" by Stevie Wonder and "Stand By Me" by Al Green. Doug Beach, music director and long time member of the Elmhurst College Music faculty arranges most of the jazz charts.
