Panel to discuss 'Hot-Button Benefits Topics' March 9

On Thursday, March 9, the Stateline Society for Human Resource Management will host a breakfast program titled "Benefits Panel Conversation: Hot-Button Benefits Topics" presented by Wendy Williams, Wendy Donahue, and Joshua Gertz with Mesirow Benefits.

The breakfast program will be 7:45 to 9:45 a.m. at the McHenry County College Shah Center, 4100 W. Shamrock Lane in McHenry. Cost is $30 or $15 for members. The registration deadline is Monday, March 6.

This program offers HR professionals and anyone dealing with benefits to understand current benefit trends and the potential impact of changes to the Affordable Care Act.

Join them as three benefits experts discuss the latest ACA and other related developments, trends and best practices for wellness programs, and using benefits benchmarking and best practices to improve hiring and retention. Plus, have a chance to ask your questions to the panel.

Meet the presenters:

• Wendy Williams is a first vice president with Alliant/Mesirow. She is actively involved in business development and the advancement of Alliant/Mesirow's Employee Benefits Practice and oversees the day-to-day operations of her team.

• Wendy Donaghue works with the Insurance Division Employee Benefits teams and their clients to plan and deliver health and wellness strategies and solutions. As part of their role, the wellness team develops and maintains relationships with strategic partners and best-in-class third party wellness vendors and stays on top of current trends and industry changes and legislation.

• As a compliance projects specialist, Josh Gertz serves as a dedicated legal resource exclusively for clients and staff of the Employee Benefits Practice. He creates informational and educational pieces and researches, writes and distributes many of the periodic compliance and topical communications regarding a variety of subjects in employment and labor law.
