Two Drop-off Locations for Disposal of Worn Flags

The Exchange Club of Gurnee, in cooperation with the Gurnee Fire Department, has established two drop-off locations to properly dispose of worn, tattered or tired American flag. The locations are Gurnee Fire Station #1 at 4580 Old Grand Avenue and Gurnee Fire Station #2 at 6581 Dada Drive.

The U.S. Flag Code states that when a flag is in such a condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, it should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning. Worn flags can be brought to one of the fire stations anytime and placed in the white box located outside the fire stations which are open 24/7.
