U-46 launches Family and Community Engagement Survey
School District U-46 Superintendent Dr. José M. Torres announced the release of the district’s annual Family and Community Engagement Survey.
Parents can take the school-specific surveys online at www.u-46.org/FACEinEnglish and www.u-46.org/FACEinSpanish, or can request a paper copy during Parent Teacher Conferences Friday, Oct. 25. U-46 parents will also be receiving the survey via email.
“The input of our U-46 community is the fuel to our drive for continuous improvement efforts,” said Superintendent Torres. “We really want all of our parents to be actively engaged and give us their feedback, whether it’s positive or constructive, so that we can continue with a laser-like focus on students.”
The surveys include 13 questions and only take about 15 minutes to complete. The FACE survey questions are based on educational research and publications, including Dr. Joyce Epstein’s Six Types of Involvement and the National PTA Standards. Dr. Epstein is director of the Center on School, Family and Community Partnerships and the National Network of Partnership Schools.
The U-46 FACE Survey questions ask participants to gauge how U-46 schools are doing in the following areas:
Ÿ Welcoming families to schools;
Ÿ Communicating effectively with families;
Ÿ Supporting student learning;
Ÿ Increasing opportunities and advocating for all students;
Ÿ Sharing decision-making with stakeholders; and
Ÿ Collaborating with the community.
