  • Austin Lawler, of Campton Hills, gives his Scottish Terrier, Holmes, a reassuring pat while his Collie Casimir, keeps out of the sun Monday. Austin brings his dogs nearly everyday to the James O. Breen Community Park, which is one of three St. Charles Parks that allows dogs to run, play and socialize off-leash.

  • While photographing Swedish Days this year in Geneva, a thunderous storm rolled through and everything was shut down. As I sat in my truck filing a few storm pictures, I saw these two young ladies racing down the sidewalk. It was evident that even though they were getting soaked, they were having fun.
