D'Ambrose's scoring lifts Lakes

Sophomore Nicole D'Ambrose continues to play good soccer for Lakes in her first varsity season.

D'Ambrose scored twice in the Eagles' 4-0 win over Round Lake in North Suburban Prairie Division action, and Kara Jones made 6 saves in earning her second shutout of the season.

Lakes (3-2, 2-0-1) also got goals from Megan Soderlund and Maya Schmidt. Allison Vancrey had a pair of assists.

Stevenson 1, Hinsdale South 0: Jenna Weiner scored the game's only goal, and Cori Calcaterra made 4 saves for the Patriots (2-2-2) in the Pepsi Showdown game.

Grayslake North 2, McHenry 1: Chelsea Olson and Maggie Fish scored for the Knights (2-2-1). Olson and Kendall Detweiler had assists.

Grayslake Central 0, Cary-Grove 0: Rams keeper Kajal Chokshi stopped 6 shots.

Wheaton North 3, Warren 1: McKenna Hofflander scored the only goal for the Blue Devils in the Pepsi Showdown contest.
