Fremd tops Conant for share of West lead

Emma Hoffman led Fremd with 4 goals, Samantha Barry had 3 and Mandy Borre and Tori Boldt had 2 apiece to help the host Vikings edge Conant 12-9 in Mid-Suburban West girls water polo action Thursday.
Carmen Rosas had 4 goals for Conant, and Angela Skittone had 3.

Fremd (6-1, 2-0) and unbeaten Barrington (6-0, 2-0) are tied for the MSL West lead.
Barrington d. Hoffman Estates: Catherine Byron had 3 goals and five more Fillies had 2 each in an 18-5 victory over the visiting Hawks.
• In other games Thursday, Palatine topped Schaumburg 12-3 and Wheeling handled Rolling Meadows 14-3.
Hersey (3-0, 2-0) and Wheeling (3-3, 2-0) are tied for the MSL East lead.
