Your road to fitness and a healthier and happier you begins with this new fitness program. While typical exercise classes can be intimidating for beginners, Fit Start has been designed to meet the specific needs of those who are new to exercise, those who have been away from fitness for a long time, and also those who are carrying excess weight. The class will consist of light, low impact cardio exercise, stretching, and toning of the upper and lower body. Taught by Janet Beata on Mondays at 7:00pm (code 3002-4) and Barbara Van Arsdale on Wednesdays at 11:45am (code 3003-4). Classes begin the week of January 7.
Belly Dance Fitness
Using the movements of belly dancing, Belly Dance Fitness combines dance, aerobic exercise, and upbeat world music. Improve coordination, balance, and posture while gaining grace and confidence. No dance experience is necessary. Taught by Oxana Ivlicheva on Mondays at noon at Birchwood beginning January 7 (code 3007-4).
Turbo KickŪ is a fun cardiovascular workout that combines shadow boxing, kick boxing, dance moves, and sports drills -- all choreographed to music. This class offers the ultimate cardiovascular challenge in a highly energetic atmosphere. Class is taught by Kim LaVigne on Thursdays at 8:00pm at Birchwood beginning January 10 (code 3005-4).
In addition to these new offerings, Palatine Park District continues to offer many classes for every fitness level and interest including pilates, yoga, toning, aerobics, boot camp, tai chi and more.
