Kim's Black Belt Academy students achieve black belts

Elgin, IL November 5, 2012: The American Kyuki-do Federation, Inc. recognized 13 students from Kim's Black Belt Academy as having the character and requisite skills to promote to the rank of Black Belt on Nov. 3.

Elgin was one of 18 different schools from the Midwest participating in the examination this weekend at the Kalahari resort and Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells. Students representing Kim's recognized over the weekend for the rank of 1st Degree (Dan) Black Belt or higher were:

1st Dan: Allan Catruran, Alexis Caturan, Mavis Caturan, Heather Farrell, Erick Garcia, Addy McMahon, Beth McMahon, Grace McMahon, Justin Strack and Antonio Vasquez.

2nd Dan: Andrew McCurdy, Logan Van Stell and Jazmine Villegas.

The American Kyuki-do Federation, Inc. is the sanctioning body for all Kyuki-do academies across North America and Mexico. “The recognition of being named a Black Belt is not only a great honor, but it also inspires each of us to seek additional ways to show our Leadership, not only in the academy but also in our community” said Mr. Rick Steinmaier Chief Instructor in referring to the new Black Belts.
