As the mayor of Prospect Heights I have struggled through some very tough problems and while we are all not yet out of the difficult times there is one constant that has been a great comfort to me these past two years.

That constant is Sid Mathias. When you think of Sid Mathias you think of responsiveness, dedication and intelligence. In this world of made-for-TV candidates, Sid represents all that is good in a public servant.

He fights for what is right. He battles those who are in government for all the wrong reasons, and he has the courage to act when others do not. Sid has been a great ally for Prospect Heights and we will miss his commitment to our community.

Hopefully the new 59th District will soon realize that they will be electing a candidate who will stand up for them at all times. They truly cannot do better than electing Sid Mathias to act on their behalf. He will be an agent for positive change both in the 59th and on the state level.

I have worked with this legislator and he has produced positive results for the City of Prospect Heights. Your vote for Sid Mathias is a vote for good government.

Go to the polls on Nov. 6 and make that happen. Vote Sid Mathias back into office in Springfield to continue his fight for truth and justice the American way.

Mayor Nick Helmer
