Duo helps Lake Park run to Earlybird title

Lake Park junior Jeremy Lozano placed third individually, just ahead of senior teammate Dakota Morales, to help the Lancers to the team championship in Saturday's Fenton Earlybird Invitational.

Lake Park finished with 69 points after a 3-4-15-23-24 finish. Lozano completed the 3.1-mile course in 15:56, 1 second before Morales. Eric Dado, Michale Strachan and Lucas Bracher also counted for Lake Park.

Buffalo Grove junior Steven Salvano took top individual honors in 15:45, just ahead of Pat Yerkes of Fenwick. The Bison placed 10th in the team race.

Oak Park-River Forest took second with 72 points, and Glenbard East, paced by Jack Peters' sixth-place finish, placed third at 120.

Brandon Bonifer placed ninth to lead Glenbard West's fourth-place team finish. The Hilltoppers finished 1 point ahead of Fenton, whose top effort came from Fabiel Urzua (seventh).

Billy Thomas paced ninth-place Hoffman Estates by finishing fifth, and eight-place Hersey'stop finisher was Matt Stadnicki (31st).
