Stevenson shoots winning score at county

The young girls golf season continues to go well for Stevenson and sophomore star Stephanie Miller.

On Monday in the Lake County Invitational held at Bonnie Brook Golf Course in Waukegan, Stevenson won its first county championship, as the Patriots carded a 331 to hold off runner-up Highland Park (336) and Barrington (337).

Miller was the medalist with a 73, good for a three-shot win over Barrington's Kelly Muskat. Stevenson also received strong rounds from Nicole Crosby (85, 12th), Claire Lavezzorio (86, 13th) and Nikki Marquardt (87, 14th).

Mundelein's Emily Whitemarsh was 10th with an 84.

Prairie Ridge d. Lake Zurich: At Prairie Isle on Tuesday, the host Wolves shot a 186 to defeat the Bears (214).

Lake Zurich was paced by Mackenzie Lestan's 48.

Warren d. Libertyville: At Bittersweet last Friday, Warren junior Erin Walker shot a school-record and personal-best 37 to lead the Blue Devils (188) to a four-stroke win.

Warren's other scorers were Kim Spangler (46), Jessica Nelson (52) and Heather Rowles (53).

For Libertyville, Paige Webb had a 42.
