Wheaton's Gary UMC offers new mission speaker series starting Feb. 5

Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton supports a variety of local, national and international organizations, helping people live their faith through prayer, hands-on work, financial support, donations of items, companionship, presence and/or systemic change.

The new three-week speaker series begins Sunday, Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. in Gary Church's chapel. This Sunday, churchgoers will learn more about Feed My Starving Children, an organization that provides meals to children around the world.

On Sunday, Feb. 12, representatives from DuPage PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) will share the latest information about helping people in DuPage County find homes.

On Sunday, Feb. 19, learn more about Redbird Mission in Beverly, Kentucky, which provides educational, health and community outreach ministries to low-income residents in Appalachia.

Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St. in Wheaton, offers 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday services in the sanctuary.

The 9 a.m. service is complete with Kids' Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org. The 11 a.m. Service of Word & Sacrament is an intimate and informal service. At 10 a.m., you can enjoy a coffee hour called "Special Blend" and Sunday school for all ages. With deep roots in the community since 1853, Gary United Methodist Church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions.
