Wheaton's Gary UMC to fund nine scholarships

Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton is raising money to fund scholarships for females around the world.

The goal is to raise $7,200 to continue scholarships for eight students, primary school through college, in Kenya, Cambodia and Zimbabwe, and to add a new scholarship for a Native American college student in Chicago.

Named "Educate a Girl/Change the World," the mission hopes that by supporting the education of girls, Gary United Methodist Church is changing lives, families and communities. You can donate at

Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St., Wheaton, offers 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday services in the sanctuary.

The 9 a.m. service is complete with Kids' Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at

The 11 a.m. Service of Word & Sacrament is an intimate and informal service.

At 10 a.m., you can enjoy a coffee hour called "Special Blend" and Sunday school for all ages.
