Wheaton's Gary UMC to fund nine scholarships

Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton is raising money to fund scholarships for females around the world.

The goal is to raise $7,200 to continue scholarships for eight students, primary school through college, in Kenya, Cambodia and Zimbabwe, and to add a new scholarship for a Native American college student in Chicago.

Named "Educate a Girl/Change the World," the mission hopes that by supporting the education of girls, Gary United Methodist Church is changing lives, families and communities. You can donate at garychurch.org/give.

Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St., Wheaton, offers 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday services in the sanctuary.

The 9 a.m. service is complete with Kids' Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org.

The 11 a.m. Service of Word & Sacrament is an intimate and informal service.

At 10 a.m., you can enjoy a coffee hour called "Special Blend" and Sunday school for all ages.
