Worship like the 18th century at Gary UMC Jan. 1

On Jan. 1 every year, the founder of Methodism, John Wesley, held a Covenant Renewal Service. Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton will turn back time and worship like people did in the 1700s with this renewed focus on faith to start 2023. Families will worship together at the 11 a.m. service in person and livestreamed at garychurch.org.

Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main Street, Wheaton, offers 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday worship services in the sanctuary, starting again Jan. 8. The 9 a.m. service is complete with Kids' Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org. The 11 a.m. Service of Word & Sacrament is an intimate and informal service. At 10 a.m., you can enjoy a coffee hour called "Special Blend" and Sunday School for all ages. With deep roots in the community since 1853, Gary Church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions.
