McHenry's jh Events and Flowers celebrates ribbon cutting

On Tuesday, Nov. 15, the Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, along with the Chain O'Lakes Area and the McHenry Area chambers of commerce, co-hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate jh Events and Flowers, 3603 Municipal Drive in McHenry.

The event commemorated jh Events and Flowers expanding their reach in the area through their membership to the Cary-Grove Area and the Chain O'Lakes Area chambers of commerce.

Owner Jennifer Hunt opened the storefront in McHenry in 2017, after working for Countryside Flower Shop, Nursery & Garden Center for over 21 years. Hunt recognized the foundation working at Countryside had given her and felt she was ready to move on to her own family-owned business.

Hunt has been a floral designer for over 30 years and has had the privilege of being part of more than 1,000 weddings and special events. She is a member of the Illinois State Floral Association, as well as an accredited and certified designer from the American Institute of Floral Designs.

"We are truly a family-run business. I love the McHenry Country hometown, rural feeling," says Hunt, "I wanted to be rooted in communities that embody that feeling."
