Friends of the Fox River to hold Nature Arts & Crafts Show Dec. 11

Join Friends of the Fox River on Sunday, Dec. 11, for the annual Nature Arts & Crafts Show. The center becomes a holiday wonderland while artists and craftspeople gather to show and sell their nature-inspired wares.

Find a truly one-of-a-kind gift that is inspired by nature and created by local artists like Jenny Hibbs with Honestly Inspired, who makes handcrafted, natural goat's milk soap, and Lynda Wallis, who creates hand-beaded leather wrap bracelets and earrings made from vintage tins.

"I make extra gentle soaps with ingredients from nature such as shea & mango butters, avocado & hemp oils and other moisturizing ingredients," Hibbs said.

Other artists and craftspeople will showcase holiday decor, yarn creations, handcrafted jewelry, baked goods, and barn-wood tags and signs.

The arts and crafts show will be noon to 4 p.m. at the Schweitzer Environmental Center located in Schweitzer Woods Forest Preserve, 16N690 Sleepy Hollow Road in Dundee Township.

Friends of the Fox River 2023 wall calendars and fresh evergreen arrangements will also be available for sale, and while most participants are local, there will be a selection of handmade jewelry and artifacts from Uganda in support of the Bwindi Watoto School.
