Wheaton band to close out summer car show series in Joliet

The Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66 has chosen Wheaton's own Mickey Hatfield Trio to headline the final "Cars & Guitars on Route 66" event this season on Tuesday, Sept. 27 in downtown Joliet.

The free show will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rialto Square Theatre, 102 N Chicago St.

"We're honored to be a part of such a great event benefitting the Illinois Rock & Roll Museum" said Sean Oakley, lead vocalist of the band, "we love getting out when the weather is good and having some fun and this will be a good night!"

Mickey Hatfield Trio features a great mix of roots rock, Americana and alt-country music.

"We're not really a trio and none of us are named Mickey" according to Dan O'Connell who plays fiddle, mandolin and banjo with the boys of MH3. "We do like playing great music and having a good time though!"

The museum hosts the annual Illinois Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony each year and is preparing to open their doors in late spring of 2023. The show is sponsored by D'Arcy Buick GMC and features food trucks and other vendors along with the classic cars and live music. All proceeds benefit the museum and you can learn more at RoadtoRock.org.
