Restoration work begins at Wheaton's Gary United Methodist Church
For the next couple of months, you'll see scaffolding on the Main Street side of Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton.
Workers are stabilizing and restoring the east elevation of the building. The project will be completed in two phases.
The first phase will include resetting the limestone coping, restoration of the mullions as well as repointing the entire façade. Workers will also be restoring the stone on the inside of the building beneath the sanctuary balcony.
The second phase includes restoring the stained glass.
Marion Restoration is working on the project and expects it to be complete sometime in mid-September.
