Sign up for Oakton's summer STEAM courses

When school is out, STEAM Youth Summer Camp is in at Oakton Community College with both in-person and virtual options.

It's more than just fun and games. Oakton's programs provide engaging and unique learning opportunities on a college campus. Students ages 8 to 14 can give their science, technology, engineering, art, and math skills a challenging workout with a range of camps and virtual classes.

At Oakton's STEAM Youth Summer Camp, kids can supercharge a passion for learning with Black Rocket, a nationwide company that provides unique enrichment and educational programs to children.

Each course emphasizes self-empowerment, cognitive reasoning, and divergent thinking through hands-on learning. Some of the cutting-edge courses in coding, game design, eSports and more include:

• 3D Game Design with Unity

• App Attack! (Take the first steps into the world of mobile app design and customize your own game app)

• Battle Royale (Make your first Fortnite-style video game)

• New! Pokemon® Masters (Designers & 3D makers unite)

• New! YouTube® FX Masters

• eSports Apprentice

• Roblox Coders

• YouTube Content Creators

• Programming With Python

In-person courses run June 13 through Aug. 4 at Oakton's Skokie Campus, 7701 Lincoln Ave., Skokie, IL 60077, and virtual courses run June 6 through Aug. 26. Registration for each class closes at 7 p.m., three days before the class starts. Courses start at $159.
