The Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of music director and conductor Stephen Alltop, continues "The Music Lives" season with a concert of Baroque favorites at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, at Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church.

In this yearlong celebration of the 60 seasons, the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra has been bringing exceptional orchestral performances to the western suburbs and beyond, the orchestra will delight you with selections by familiar and well-loved Baroque composers.

The program will feature the German-British composer George Frideric Handel's Sonata from "Il Trionfo del Tempo e della Verita"; German composer Johann Sebastian Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in D major, BWV 1050; Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto Grosso in D minor; and German composer Georg Philipp Telemann's Overture-Suite in C major, TV 55 no C 3 "Wassermusik."

The performance of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto is underwritten by a generous gift from Elaine Libovicz.
