Chicago Brass Band Players return to MCC's Second Sunday Concert Series Oct. 10

The Chicago Brass Band Players will open the 2021-22 McHenry County College Second Sunday Concert Series on Sunday, Oct. 10.

The concert will take place at 3 p.m. at the college's Luecht Auditorium, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

This specialized ensemble of Chicago Brass Band members will perform a variety of brass repertoire from a broad range of musical eras. The performance will feature sounds of the cornet, flugelhorn, tenor horn, baritone horn, trombone, euphonium, bass, and percussion.

The Second Sunday Concert Series features a variety of classical, jazz, and folk musicians from the greater Chicago area, along with semiannual concerts featuring the MCC chorus, concert band, and jazz ensemble.

There will be a special Halloween Concert by the MCC Concert Band and Crystal Lake Community Band at Cary-Grove High school at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31.

Upcoming Second Sunday performances include: Brian Torosian at 3 p.m. Nov. 14; the MCC Chorus at noon Nov. 17; andthe MCC Concert Band at 3 p.m. Nov. 21.

The concerts are free of charge and open to the public.
