Oswego's Karly Quarnstrom named 2021 Congressional Art Competition winner

Congresswoman Lauren Underwood announced Karly Quarnstrom of Oswego High School as the winner of the 2021 Congressional Art Competition for the 14th District of Illinois.

For over 30 years, the Congressional Art Competition has showcased the art of high school students from across the country.

The 2021 virtual competition included over 70 submissions from talented students from the 14th District.

Quarnstrom's artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol to represent the 14th District in the halls of Congress.

"The Congressional Art Competition is an exciting opportunity for young students in our community to bringing their voices and values to the halls of Congress. I am blown away by all the talent and hard work from our students and grateful for their work to make our community a little more colorful, especially during a global pandemic," said Rep. Underwood. "Congratulations to Karly Quarnstrom from Oswego High School! I look forward to seeing your artwork in the Capitol."
